Here you can meet the Unexpected Journey 2026 organisers. Every year the organisation consists of a number of senior students (placement students) of the Academy for Leisure & Events and the Academy for Tourism. Together with several BUas staff members, they are responsible for the entire organisation of the introduction week. Read more about this year’s organisers below!
Hola! I’m Evanne de Looze, 20 years old and a third-year Tourism Management (NL) student. I’m from a small, friendly village near Breda. Alongside my studies, I work as a waitress in a restaurant, and in my spare time I’m either on the hockey pitch or out and about with friends. I can’t wait to make the introduction week a fantastic start to your student life, full of fun, new memories and good vibes!

Hi, my name is Maybel Meijer and I’m 23 years old. I’m in my second year of Leisure & Events Management, with a specialisation in Live Music & Dance Events. I’m originally from The Hague but have been living in Breda for a while now. I’m a busy bee and love festivals, parties, meeting up with friends, going out for drinks on a terrace, sports and travelling. On top of that, I work in hospitality. I’m really looking forward to organising Unexpected Journey and creating an unforgettable introduction week!
Hello everyone! I’m Nika Raams, 22 years old and currently in my second year of the Leisure & Events Management degree programme. I’m from Oosterhout, but I’ve been living in Breda for six months now. In my spare time, I work in hospitality, enjoy going out for drinks on a terrace and like doing sports. I can’t wait to organise the introduction week and create an unforgettable experience for everyone!
Hi, I’m Sven Kelders, 20 years old and currently in my second year of the Leisure & Events Management degree programme. I’m from a village between Eindhoven and ‘s-Hertogenbosch, but I’ve been living in Tilburg for a year now. Next to my studies, I spend a lot of time working as a bartender and head of kitchen in a small café, while also playing football and tennis here and there. I’m really looking forward to giving all new first-year students an unforgettable Unexpected Journey!
